Dhrupad is the oldest surviving classical musical tradition in North India. The accuracy of the voice of sound frequencies and micro-tones are the essence of Dhrupad.

The mridangam is a classical double drum from South India. Used to accompany songs, instruments and dance, it is made form a single piece of hollow wood, though it may have originally been made of clay.

In this all-levels class, you will learn or train the technical basics of Kathak dance, while learning about the culture in which it was born. You will become familiar with the gods and goddesses, Krishna, Durga or Shiva, while improving your balance and the precision of your movements with foot strikes and pirouettes.
