Two duos alternate throughout the concert before coming together as a trio.
Part One: Angelika Hansen & Thomas Loefke
Faroese fiddler Angelika Hansen and harpist Thomas Loefke bring together the island traditions of the North Atlantic and the musical worlds of Scandinavia. Celtic cultures did not evolve in isolation: across this vast maritime region, they encountered the languages and traditions of the Nordic world along the Viking routes. At the crossroads of the Gaelic languages and Old Norse* , this unique duo creates a richly evocative soundscape, enhanced by Thomas Loefke's photography, inviting audiences on a journey that is both dreamlike and deeply moving.

Part Two: Máire Breatnach & Thomas Loefke
The second half of the concert turns more directly towards the musical traditions of Ireland. Joined by Thomas Loefke, fiddler and singer Máire Breatnach performs music deeply rooted in Gaelic culture, where ancient melodies and original compositions are united by the same spirit of expressive freedom. For her, tradition is anything but a static heritage: it is a living memory in which Celtic music, language, and poetry remain inseparably intertwined.

Irish music boasts an enormous repertoire, so the accent will be placed on learning and interpreting the jigs, reels, hornpipes and polkas that are most often played and enjoyed today in jam sessions.
