The Village of Cultures – A Summer Highlight at ADEM
Now in its fourth edition, the Village of Cultures, organized by the Ateliers d’ethnomusicologie (ADEM), invites you to discover musical and dance practices from around the world, up close and personal with the artists who keep them alive. Conceived as a space for active transmission and intercultural dialogue, this series of workshops brings together, as always at ADEM, outstanding artist-educators.
Program highlights include an instrumental tango workshop led by Victor Hugo Villena and Bárbara Varassi Pega, offering a deep dive into the expressive richness of this iconic Argentine genre. Renowned conga master Orlando Poleo will showcase the powerful rhythms of salsa percussion, while Rebecca Roger Cruz will channel the memory of South American peoples through song and percussion. On the dance side, Rocco Sedano will lead sessions on chacarera, zamba, and Argentine zapateo; Hind Taoufiq will offer a diverse oriental dance workshop; and Karen Lugo will guide a flamenco dance course. A moving journey through vibrant and rich traditions.
New this year: workshops will take place both at ADEM (Ateliers d’ethnomusicologie) and EMA (École des musiques actuelles), creating a stimulating flow between different spaces of creation and transmission. Whether you are a musician, dancer, teacher, or simply curious, this edition is an invitation to share, experiment, and create together.
Registrations are open – don’t miss your chance to be part of this artistic adventure alongside passionate instructors.
See you at the Village of Cultures!
