Three headlands, three capes, three horizons: the ancient Greeks called Sicily “Trinacria,” the “triple point.” A fitting image for tonight’s trio. Between sea air, sirocco winds, and urban life: three friends, three musicians, three families of traditional instruments from Southern Italy.
For over twenty years, these artists have shared their music across the world, inspired by the energy of their audiences. With vitality, humor, and emotion, Tu comu stai? opens a luminous path toward Sicily. The show features a unique art of singing that blends the rhythms of Southern Italian percussion—tammorra, tamburello—with the harmonies of the chitarra battente and the melodies of wind instruments.
Their songs, in Sicilian (sicilianu), explore themes old and new: love, life and death, exile, rebellion. Stories full of humanity, sung with mischief and tenderness, rooted in oral tradition yet resonating powerfully in the present.
Vittorio Catalano: voice, ciaramella, zampogna, saxophone, transverse flute, friscaletti
Massimo Laguardia: voice, tammorra, tamburello, percussion
Salvatore Meccio: voice, chitarra battente, classical guitar, percussion
Special guest: Lorella Monti – voice, percussion, dance
