The trio Ashek Nameh ("love letter" in Persian and Arabic) takes us on a virtuoso journey through the musical traditions of Iran and Syria. It is the result of a dialogue between Mohanad Aljaramani (Syria) and Pouya Khoshravesh (Iran), both of whom come from brilliant musical families. They arrived in France at the beginning of the 2010s and gave numerous concerts before creating the present trio where they are accompanied by the Franco-Greek percussionist Jérôme Salomon. Each of them, in their own way, is imbued with the soul of their countries, and together they present a repertoire of traditional music and original compositions this evening. A universe that carries with it various personal experiences, like a rich cultural history where melodies, rhythms and instruments of more or less distant origins have constantly crossed paths over the years. Mohanad Aljaramani studied from 2002 to 2008 at the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus. Pouya Khoshravesh learned the kamenche at the age of 10, first from his father and then from Saeed Farajpouri, one of the great masters of this instrument in Iran. Jérôme Salomon was a student of the Iranian tombak master Pedram Khavarzamini.
