Tapanak means ‘ark’ in Armenian.
After forty stormy days at sea an ark runs aground on unknown land; the clouds part and a new world appears. To the sound of the ancient music of Armenia, the Balkans and the Middle East, this vivid musical story recounts the discovery of this new land, in a narrative pitched at children. On screen, characters and finely crafted sets come to life in a graphic world of shadows and light.
Born from the collaboration between the musicians of Canticum Novum, the videographers of La Louce and the author Julien Tauber, Tapanak is an extraordinary saga that takes us on a journey from the Caucasian mountains to the shores of the Mediterranean.
