MIASiN!, which means “Together” in Armenian, is an all-female group made up of five musicians from diverse backgrounds: French, Armenian and Turkish. In 2023, they embarked on a road trip from Yerevan (capital of Armenia) across Turkey, from the Black Sea to Eastern Anatolia, via the Armenian High Plateau and Turkish Kurdistan.

This journey gave them the opportunity to discover and draw inspiration from the many musical and cultural traditions of different communities living in Anatolia, such as the Armenians, Kurds, Hamchens and other groups sharing common roots in the region. These exchanges have enriched their artistic imagination and strengthened their commitment to these often misunderstood, marginalized and sometimes oppressed cultures.

Considering the instruments and repertoires they practice as a common asset to humanity, they have chosen to share this rich heritage. This is the origin and essence of MIASiN!
