Eva Quartet brings together four of the finest female voices of Bulgaria — soloists from the renowned choir The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices, an emblematic ensemble of Bulgarian music, celebrated for its unmistakable timbre and unique vocal harmonies.
Introduced to Western audiences in the 1980s by Swiss musicologist Marcel Cellier, this choir offered a reinterpretation of traditional repertoire — crafted for the stage and the modern ear — blending heritage, re-creation, and choral composition.
Formed in 1995, and driven by exceptional vocal mastery, Eva Quartet quickly established itself as a leading reference in Bulgarian vocal art inspired by folk traditions. Remaining faithful to its roots while boldly exploring new arrangements, the ensemble affirms a strong and distinctive artistic identity. There is something magical about their sound — one often feels as though hearing a single, unified voice, so seamlessly and gracefully do their timbres blend — a single breath giving rise to four voices.
