30 June - 5 July
For the past five years, the Village des Cultures has carried forward the legacy of the legendary Croisée des Cultures, faithfully continuing the founding spirit of ADEM: creating a space for living transmission, artistic practice, and shared experiences. Every summer in Geneva, artists and teachers from around the world come together to share, with generosity and passion, the richness of their musical and dance traditions.
For this new edition, Senegalese sabar dance, driven by the vibrant energy of the sabar drum, will spark a powerful group dynamic. In the vocal workshops, participants will explore polyphonic singing through a bodily approach closely connected to listening, breath, and inner resonance. Flamenco, a faithful companion of ADEM for more than forty years, will celebrate the soul of Andalusia. Meanwhile, body percussion — one of the newest additions to our programme — will continue to surprise and inspire through its playful, rhythmic, and accessible approach for everyone.
Over the years, the Village des Cultures has become a place of meaningful encounters, where lasting connections are built between artists and participants in a spirit of openness and conviviality. Several teachers are once again honouring us with their presence this year, responding to the enthusiasm expressed in previous editions — a strong testament to the artistic and human quality of these gatherings.
The workshops will take place between ADEM’s premises and those of the École des Musiques Actuelles (EMA), encouraging a stimulating circulation of practices, ideas, and creative energies in inspiring spaces.
Musicians, dancers, teachers, or simply curious minds eager for discovery: join us for this new edition of the Village des Cultures. A special time to practise, listen, exchange, and create together.
See you at the Village des Cultures!
