The Bab Assalam Company or ‘Porte de la Paix’ reunites three virtuosos –  two Syrian classical musicians (oud and percussion) and a French clarinettist, a disciple of chamber music. Since 2005 these artists have created encounters between the East and West through musical and poetic creations of great originality.

Nine years after having played at the Citadel of Alep at the sides of two swirling dervishes, Bab Assalam reinvents the myth of the ecstatic dervish dance in collaboration with the circus artist Sylvain Julien. This is a homage to the town of Alep, a humanist ode, mixing circuslike dreams with the mystique of Sufi dance.
