Soul of Epirus invites you to discover the recent album by two renowned artists: Greek clarinettist Petroloukas Halkias and laouto player Vasilis Kostas. It explores a tradition born in the 1920s and 30s under the impetus of the legendary clarinettist Kitsos Harissiadis, who created a unique musical language from the rich instrumental and vocal heritage of Epirus, in northwestern Greece. This unique form of expression celebrates the feelings of joy and sadness of the common people, honours those who have died or emigrated, and sings with verve of the beauties of nature and life.
This quintet concert is based on a dialogue between two solo instruments played by two musicians of different generations, each carrying their own history and their relationship to the Epirus tradition. A fine art enriched by the voice and poetry of the singer Kostas Tzimas and other instrumental nuances.
