17 - 21 May | Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso)
Seduced by its ethics and its programming, the ADEMs have chosen to support the BADARA festival in a spirit of solidarity and in order to offer it a wide visibility among the Geneva, Swiss and European public.
Founded by the Burkinabe musician Koto Brawa, the festival has been held every year since 2016 in Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso). The event is dedicated to the promotion of traditional music from Burkina Faso and more broadly from West Africa. It takes many forms: concerts, conferences/demonstrations, jam sessions and practical workshops.
This 6th edition will particularly highlight rare traditions, sometimes on the verge of extinction - since, unfortunately, the world's cultural diversity is no different from its biodiversity... Most of the events will be streamed (live and recorded) on the festival's Facebook page and Youtube channel.
If you wish to better understand and above all feel these musical traditions, the ADEMs particularly recommend the presentations/demonstrations (lasting 30 to 45 minutes) during which the musicians will invite you "as if at home" thanks to the magic of digital technology in order to share with you, or almost, everything about their passion for the music that drives them... A thousand and one secrets that will be revealed with verve and generosity!
Good discoveries, have a good festival!
