Group lessons
This course offers an introduction to Latin American rhythms through a didactic and hands-on repertoire, which is adapted for the voice and for instruments.
Musical genres are approached through practice, and oral transmission; the written teaching material for melodic and rhythmic instruments will only be used as references for certain rhythmic details.
Rhythms studied:
Peruvian (Landó, Festejo, Marinera, Vals, Panalivio)
Colombian (Bambuco, Pasillo, Porro),
Venezuelan (Joropo, Merengue),
Cuban (Danzón, Habanera, Son),
Argentinian (Milonga, Tango)
Brazilian (Choro, Samba, Forro).
Moderate proficiency on an instrument is essential. Sergio also offers private guitar classes to individuals and small groups
Sergio Valdeos is a Peruvian guitarist, arranger and composer. After a long and brilliant career in Peru and Brazil, Sergio moved to Geneva in 2016, looking for new musical horizons.
